Writing for Buzz:

Your Words Have Consequences

Words Have the Power to Create a “Yes” or a “No” Response from Your Ideal Customers

Hello:

It’s crazy. Selling has changed forever. Both online and offline. In our over-communicated world of Facebook, Twitter and other social media, bloggers and networkers with nothing to sell and worse, nothing of consequence to say, have more influence than ever.

By being emotionally compelling and using sexy, enticing headlines and powerful, simple copy you will create more interest and increase your income.

Without taking a fresh, new look at ways to keep your reader’s attention, chances are your sales will suffer as a result. Great graphics will grab eyeballs but they won’t create a sale. It’s about moving prospective customers from attention to interest and then desire for your product or service.

Here’s what’s new and changing.  You must:

  • Create a relationship and a genuine connection between buyer and seller
  • Provide an outstanding offer that meets a recognized need
  • Build a feeling of trust in an increasing world of no trust
  • Explain it in a way that generates “gotta have it” enthusiasm
  • Compel would-be customers to take the next step and buy

The last three years we’ve experienced huge changes.  Foreclosures en masse have many questioning the American Dream of home ownership. Job losses have resulted in more people making lifestyle changes including downsizing to part-time work, or, ramping up to start new businesses. Uncertainty has led more people to pay down credit card debt and do without tempting purchases they would’ve quickly whipped out a credit card for before.

Transform Browsers into Buyers

The environment in 2011 requires a high degree of skill and understanding to communicate in a results-driven way. You must understand the crucial consequences your words hold – whether they’re spoken or written ones.

It’s about transforming browsers into buyers. It’s not enough to hand over this important task to your assistant, spouse or college student. They may be well-intentioned, but they don’t understand where the landmines are lurking that can spell less income for your business.

Your ideal customers still want, need and are willing to pay for what you sell.  Finding them and drawing them in to buy has changed.  As an experienced marketing writer whose been through the ups and downs, I can help give you the edge you need to succeed.

If you communicate:

  • Angry words – you’re likely to get angry results – think road rage
  • Kind thoughtful words will give you a more kind, thoughtful result

However, what most business owners or marketing managers don’t realize is often the words communicated on their website, online and in other marketing communications create confusion.  It’s not intentional.  No one plans to fail.

My Marketing Rule Number One is: a confused mind always says “no.”

Help is on the way.

I’ve been writing compelling, influencing website content or copy and sales letters for well over a decade.  Brochures for over two decades.  I started writing advertising copy with a Fortune 500 company straight out of college. My second media release, written in high school made the front page of a large metropolitan daily paper.  The list goes on. If you have a need for words that persuade and influence customers I can help.

If this Makes Sense to You – let’s Schedule a Time to Talk

We can connect on the phone, in person if you’re in Las Vegas, or, on Skype.  I’ll listen to your concerns and make suggestions where I may be able to help.  If you choose to go further I’ll share my pricing for what you need and you can make a decision if it makes sense for us to work together.

Don’t delay or mull over whether you should connect or not.  You’ve read this far.  I respect that because it means you recognize the importance of your marketing and selling message   Trust your first instincts and let’s talk about it.  Your business is waiting.

All the best,
